Newspapers, licensing, and Megadeth/Gigantour.

This is just a quick update; i'm not even sure if anyone ever reads my journal, but ehh.

I'm sorry i haven't been around lately, my hands are pretty full these days. I have turned my photography into a business, i am licensed and registered now under Chelsey Carpenter Photography.

My gallery showing is still scheduled for May 1st. The night before that i am in Toronto at Gigantour taking photos for Megadeths website. Heck yes. I wrote to a couple newspapers to see if they could put anything in about my show, one has expressed a lot of interest. The only thing is, i have no idea how to write a press release and a story on me. I'm meeting with a reporter/photographer next week to get my picture taken to go with the article. I am incredibly excited, and i know this will be a good thing, but i'm also nervous as hell.

But, i must depart as today is also my mum's birthday. I believe we are taking her out to dinner, so i probably should shower and get ready.

Finally a GOOD day.

Today went pretty damn fantastic. I had to get up ridiculously early after sleeping for two hours -- which sucked, but i got up to go take pictures which went awesome. My model was amazing to work with and a natural beauty. Hopefully i'll get to do more work with her soon.
After our set i had a meeting about shooting a wedding in June, which also went really well. I'm excited for it like mad. Weddings are a lot of work, but the end result it well worth it.
I posted a few of the pictures i took of Jackie today, i'm really happy with how they came out. Anyway, i hope you guys like that and that things are going well for everyone else. I'll try to update again soon.

So as of earlier today, February 21, 2008, i became an independent business owner; or 'sole-proprietor' if you will. That is a scary thought.

There is an insane amount of legal and government crap that has to be done to make this work, and i am just getting started. Then there is the actual running, and financing of said business. And you know, the actual work. My life just got a whole lot more complicated. Plus, i have absolutely no money, which terrifies me [although you would think i would be used to it by now.]

So anyway, i'm sorry i haven't been around as much as i would like to be. I've just been busy, and stressed like you would not believe.

And it has only just begun...
